Searchbug Security Incident and Service Restoration Notice

Searchbug Security Incident and Service Restoration Notice

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Searchbug is recovering from a ransomware attack that disrupted our services and exposed customer information. We are investigating the incident and assessing its impact.

Our engineering team has migrated systems to new servers, implemented additional security measures, and is working to restore affected services safely.

Current Service Status

Service restoration is ongoing. Customers can visit https://www.searchbug.com for access and updates.

Account and API Access

Account access is now available. Please use Password Recovery to reset your password and regain access to your account. We also recommend enabling multifactor authentication (MFA) for additional protection.

If you use the Searchbug API, reset your password, then log in, generate a new API key, and immediately update your integration.

Important: Generating a new API key automatically deactivates your previous key. Be sure to clear any cache or Postman settings that may affect a new API key update.

Security Reminder

The attackers have threatened to contact customers directly. Be cautious of unexpected messages referring to this incident or requesting passwords, API keys, verification codes, or payment information. Do not click links or open attachments in unexpected messages.

To access your account, enter https://www.searchbug.com directly into your browser. If you are unsure whether a message is genuine, or anything looks suspicious, contact us using the support information below.
