Do Not Call Registry & Reassigned Numbers Database: What Telemarketers Must Know

VFAQ: Do Not Call Registry and Reassigned Numbers Database (RND)

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) requires businesses in the U.S. to screen phone numbers against the National Do Not Call (DNC) list at least every 31 days. This helps avoid contacting newly registered numbers. Additionally, 13 states maintain their own DNC registries, each with unique requirements and penalties. Telemarketers operating in these states must also comply with state-specific rules, which increases the importance of regular screenings.

To help businesses maintain compliance, Searchbug offers DNC Scrubber API for TCPA Compliance to identify high-risk numbers and Reassigned Numbers Database (RND) API to identify numbers that have been reassigned and you may no longer have consent to contact. These tools help reduce the risk of violations and enhance the accuracy of outbound communications.
