Generate Unique API Keys for Secure Access: New Searchbug Feature September 2024

Can I generate a unique API key so I don't have to share my account password?

Yes you can! In September of 2024 Searchbug rolled out a new feature: Generate API Key. Simply navigate to "Your Account" page (screenshot below) and click the "Generate" button. This will generate a unique API key that you can use in the PASS variable of your API query string:

Keeping your account secure is more important than ever, especially when working with developers or third-party providers, as it contains sensitive data.

Instead of giving out your login credentials to developers or team members who need access to Searchbug's APIs, you can now generate a unique API key. This key allows developers to run live API queries without exposing your personal login details. It's a safer, more efficient way to manage access. This straightforward process ensures that you can share API access securely without giving out your login credentials.
